The A-Transmissions Process

5 Year Unlimited Mileage Warranty

Atransmissions can offer this GAAP – Protection Plan No fault guarantee on our Rebuilt Automatic Transmissions because everyone of them goes through our Extensive “Quality Control Management” process that ensures “peace of mind” for the consumer.  Please visit our warranty page for complete coverage information on our transmissions and our No Fault Guarantee GAAP – Protection plan.  Our No Fault Guarantee Policy Ensures that regardless of fault, A-transmissions will cover our product only, for a period of up to 5 Years.  (Excludes freight, and labor to Remove & Re-install.)

START OF PROCESS:

Every A-Transmission’s rebuilt transmission is completely disassembled and cleaned to remove any and all contaminants that are within the existing core prior to rebuilding.  Pumps are split, and cleaned, valve body (valves, springs, etc) are removed from the bores prior to cleaning.  Any and all soft parts are discarded, including (but not limited to), clutches, gaskets, seals, sealing rings, filter, band, boost valve, and much more.  All internal hard parts, that still meet engineering drawing requirements, and are not damaged, are cleaned, inspected, and reconditioned.  Any hard part that does not meet specification is discarded and replaced.  Any component that is mandatory recall or engineering obsolete is replaced with the updated component.  Once we have completely cleaned, Case, valve body, pump, all drums, planetary gears, as well as fully inspected (with micrometers, fixtures, Go-No GO gauging) we now have our base raw product to start an A-Transmission approved rebuilt transmission.

MANUFACTURING PROCESS:

Our manufacturing/assembly facility’s highly trained staff is setup to specialize in specific component rebuilding in order to ensure high volume manufacturing while enabling us to keep costs down.

Input Drums:  We start with an A-Transmissions quality inspected input drum.   That drum, cleaned and inspected, is stacked with all new set of clutches, steals, and all seals. and moved down to an auditor for inspection.

Valve bodies:  Valve bodies are rebuilt by highly skilled technicians.  All components of the valve body are inspected for wear and the valve body is resurfaced for correct mating and sealing with transmission case.  Valve body bores are true geometrically throughout the Z-axis to ensure the geometrical dimensional tolerances are met throughout the depth of the bore.  Therefore the new valves will run true within the bore for increased qualify and performance.  Valve bodies then are updated with shift correction kits.  Check balls are greased into place. New VB gaskets and ready for installation.

Servo:  All of our units Servo’s are done in a specific department specializing experts in that field.  The servo (upon completion) is moved into the assembly area for master technician assembly.

Pre-Inspection:  Transmission performance is pre-inspected at the assembly station to assure correct operation before additional assembly and testing is performed.  Pressure test performed to test circuit leakage.  Air check and electrical checks performed on Drum and Harness prior to assembly.

New Parts:  A-transmissions rebuilt transmission receive a standard set of new and qualified parts.  Our standard parts replacement assured smooth, consistent performance and extended life of the transmission.  These parts meet or exceed OEM quality guidelines, and are acceptable OEM replacement parts per industry standards.

Assembly:  Certified Master technicians specializing in specific automatic transmission’s are exclusively our final step in the rebuilding process prior to Quality Control.  Our technicians go over every supplied component to ensure quality and accuracy.  Transmission is assembled per manufacturer specifications and moved to our quality Control department.

Quality Control:  A-transmission’s highly trained quality control department is responsible for a final assembly inspection.  Its a series of checks constituting a checklist authorization prior to shipment.  Checks everything from proper shift selection operation, exterior surfaces, shift shafts, neutral-safety (where applicable) output, input shafts, torque converter, and more.
